Deputy Director, Sonya M. Dingess Porter
Deputy Director Sonya M. Dingess Porter is a life long residence of Logan County. Before Sonya returned back to the Logan County Office of Emergency Management, she retired from the Logan County Sheriff’s having 27 years experience in law enforcement. Her last eight years of her career in law enforcement she served as the Sheriff. She also had been the Co-coordinator and member of the multi-jurisdictional U. S. 119 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, working with the FBI, DEA and the West Virginia State Police when it was first formed. She graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy as a certified basic police officer, she graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and she received her RBA degree from West Virginia State University. She has training in emergency management and administration as well as experience in that field.
